Project Experience

Project Experience: Bridge Design

Project Manager on the following Projects:

  • Christie Road over Bog Brook, Stratford, New Hampshire. Design of a new 42’ span HS•25 precast voided slab deck replacement structure for the Town of Stratford, New Hampshire. This project was executed under the DOT’s Municipally Managed Process for State Bridge Aid, and included hydrologic/hydraulic and replacement structure studies, as well as Right of Way acquisition determination. The project also required significant wetlands permitting, on•site mitigation and upstream channel improvements.
  • Egan Road over Bog Brook, Stratford, New Hampshire. Design of a new 38’ span HS•25 precast voided slab deck replacement structure for the Town of Stratford, New Hampshire. This project was executed under the DOT’s Municipally Managed Process for State Bridge Aid, and included hydrologic/hydraulic and replacement structure studies, as well as Right of Way acquisition determination.

Project Engineer on the following Projects:

  • Paris Road over Upper Ammonoosuc River, Stark, New Hampshire. Design of a new 125’ span HS•25 composite concrete deck on steel plate girder two lane superstructure on cast in place concrete pile supported substructure for the Town of Stark, New Hampshire. This project is being executed under the DOT’s Municipally Managed Process for State Bridge Aid, and included Hec-Ras hydrologic/hydraulic studies, replacement structure studies, Wetlands Bureau and Army Corps of Engineers environmental permitting, as well as Right of Way acquisition determination. Approximately 1300’ of approach roadway improvements are being designed. Construction is scheduled for summer 1999.
  • Thayer Road over South Branch Baker River, Wentworth, New Hampshire. Design of a new 85’ span HS•25 structure to replace an aging, deteriorated, and closed single lane two span steel superstructure on timber crib abutments. New superstructure is proposed to be a prefabricated single lane single span truss supported on new cast in place reinforced concrete abutments on steel piles. This project is being executed under the DOT’s Municipally Managed Process for State Bridge Aid, and included hydrologic/hydraulic studies, replacement structure studies, Wetlands Bureau environmental permitting, as well as Right of Way acquisition determination. Approximately 600’ of approach roadway improvements are being designed. Construction is scheduled for summer 1999.
  • Seven Islands over the Androscoggin River, Errol, New Hampshire. Survey work and design of replacement timber crib abutments for a 120’ long two span continuous snowmobile bridge.

Construction Observation Services Only Were Provided on the Following Project:

  • Bog Road over Bog Brook, Stratford, New Hampshire. Design of a new HS•25 precast concrete voided slab deck replacement structure for the Town of Stratford, New Hampshire. This project was executed under the DOT’s Municipally Managed Process for State Bridge Aid, and included hydrologic/hydraulic and replacement structure studies, as well as Right of Way acquisition determination. Approximately 1000’ of approach roadway improvements were designed, and environmental permitting facilitated.

Project Experience: Building Design

Project Engineer on the Following Projects:

  • Wrobleski Residence, Jackson, New Hampshire. Structural design of glue laminated timber, structural steel, and wood framed 5000 sq. ft. custom residential structure. Tim Sappington, Architect.
  • Lodge #2 at the Village of Loon Mountain, Lincoln, New Hampshire. Samyn-D’Elia Architects. Design of structural steel and precast concrete plank 4 story building. Shop Drawing review and construction observation services.
  • Wausau Carriers Warehouse Facility, Groveton, New Hampshire. Provan & Lorber, Inc. prime consultant. new 75,000 square foot storage warehouse. Design of soil bearing reinforced concrete foundations for pre-engineered steel frame superstructure. Contract administration services, including preparation of all contract documents, coordination with mechanical, electrical, and architectural sub consultants, bid package preparation, bid evaluation, contract award, review and recommendation for payment of contractor requisitions and change orders. Construction administration services, including shop drawing review and construction observation services.
  • Crapo Memorial Building, Sugar Hill, New Hampshire. Samyn-D’Elia Architects. Design of structural steel and wood framed alterations and additions to existing wood framed school house for renovation to Town Offices. Conventional soil bearing reinforced concrete foundations. Shop Drawing review and construction observation services.
  • Lincoln Municipal Building, Lincoln, New Hampshire. Samyn•D’Elia Architects. Design of structural steel, reinforced masonry, and wood framed alterations and additions to existing masonry and steel framed building to accommodate major renovations to Town Offices. Conventional soil bearing reinforced concrete foundations. Shop Drawing review and construction observation services.
  • Additions and alterations to the Gorham Community Center, Gorham, New Hampshire. Tennant/Wallace Architects. Design of steel and wood framing and reinforced concrete foundations for alterations and additions to an historic 2 story heavy timber framed schoolhouse building for adaptive reuse/renovation into a community center/SAU Office building.
  • Town of Hunstville, Hunstville, Ontario. Renovation to an existing town hall and a three•story theater addition. Building design was primarily steel framed with load bearing masonry supporting the first floor. Floors were all precast plank and the roof system was OWSJ’s with metal deck. Theater design involved many unique facets including: balcony design, main floor house seating, catwalks, and stage rigging.

Project Experience: Water Projects

Project Engineer on the Following Projects:

  • Lancaster Water Treatment Facility, Lancaster, New Hampshire. Design of buried, cast in place concrete, two•cell water storage tank, with precast concrete voided slab roof deck.
  • North Charlestown Water Treatment Facility, North Charlestown, New Hampshire. Design of a buried, cast in place concrete, two-cell water storage tank, with precast concrete voided slab roof deck.
  • Littleton Water & Light Contact Chamber, Littleton, New Hampshire. Design of a buried cast in place concrete contact chamber, with precast concrete voided slab roof deck.
  • Mountain View Grand, Whitefield, New Hampshire. Design of a buried cast in place concrete water storage tank with precast concrete voided slab roof deck. Tank provided storage for water to be used for fire protection purposes.
  • Town of Clearview, Stayner, Ontario. Designed a buried, two-cell, reinforced concrete water reservoir, and ring foundations for a glass-lined tank. Reservoir design was based on ACI 530 requirements for sanitary structures.
  • Town of Clearview, Water reservoir and rechlorination facility, Stayner, Ontario. Addition to anexisting wastewater treatment tank. Designed a 25 foot deep, reinforced concrete, wet/dry well addition.
